+Bay Park granny flat with rooftop deck addition+

We are reaching the halfway point on this larger home addition project in the beautiful Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego. Working from blueprints, navagating permits and passing inspections can be challenging, yet we have been able to keep this project moving along as planned meeting both our inspectors and clients demands/concerns. Aprox. 600 sqft of usable/liveable space is being added to the overall property value and curb appeal of this already terrific home, which when comes time to sell should payout doublefold.

Thanks to our framing expert Dan Flores who did a great job framing which helps to keep the project moving smoothly and on time.

We are also finishing up a new bathroom addition in the North/South Park area for a client. More to follow............

+Spanish roof turret+

We've been staying busy with a few large projects and many smaller ones like this neat Spanish roof turret we repaired for a client in El Cerrito.

Here we carefully dismantled the vintage tiles and verified the 1x6" interior cedar was not damaged, we replaced all necessary lumber which got primed/painted, we then laid 2 layers of tar paper, followed by 2 layers of roll roofing material. We then sealed in any gaps with sealant and finished by re-tiling with the salvaged tiles from the demo.

Each tile got secured with roofing nails and tied off with galvanized wire that was screwed into the center 4x4 for safety and longevity.

We were able to blend it nicely with the existing roofing and are confident our client wont have any leaks coming from this turret

+Matt Dunphy BIO+

Matt Dunphy is our project manager, he is a journeymen level carpenter and has been in the trade 20+ yrs.

Matt’s never met a piece of lumber he didn’t like! in fact Matt once won the Ridgid tool’s fastest gun in the west competition outside a Home depot !!( He can go thru a box of screws or nails faster than most can voice a complaint, and that’s while he’s making complex compound cuts on the saw)

All jokes aside Matt is skilled at his job and always has a smile on his face. Matt comes to us from Phoenix, AZ. Where he and Owner Chad Stewart worked along side each other prior to starting Stewart Brothers Construction some 10 yrs ago.

Matt has a wide scope of ability’s, an amazing eye for detail and is great at realizing others visions/ideas.

Matt has built homes in the southwest US, Baja california, managed crews building many Hard Rock hotels bar/lounges around the country, and done countless home remodel projects. Matt grew up learning the trade from his family and father who owns A roofing Company in TX.

When not working with Stewart Brothers, Matt can be found visiting his kids/family, dangling off a cliff on an extreme climbing adventure, hiking and camping in the desert or mountains, measuring twice, or squeezing in a game of hockey.

+ Yoli's Christmas Kitchen/Deck +

Here's a few pics of A beautiful full kitchen remodel, and sprawling TREX deck/patio/trellis we finished recently for Yoli in the El Cerrito neighborhood of San Diego.

Yoli really had a vision of what she wanted and made some great choices in salvaging a few of the kitchen materials that she had an attatchment to, such as her saltillo floor tile, and blue glass backsplash tile, so we worked around those concerned areas and were able to blend them seamlessly into the new finished kitchen design.

On this job we installed Knotty alder cabinets, Anderson french door's, Milgard garden window, and used Trex material over treated doug fir for the deck, benches, and trellis.
We are extremely porud and happy of this kitchen remodel/deck addition and to get to work with such a pleasant homeowner as Yoli, it really made the job fun.

Our thanks goes out to Yoli.
